At a towering 8,611 meters, K2 — known as the "Savage Mountain" — tests the limits of all who strive to summit it. On August 11, 2025, our 14 Peaks Expedition team proudly reached this monumental peak, marking a landmark achievement filled with courage, skill, and unyielding teamwork.
Our summit team included incredible climbers from diverse backgrounds:
Gülnur Tumbat — First Turkish woman to summit K2, also a dedicated marketing professor and accomplished endurance athlete.
Eduard Kubatov — First Kyrgyz to reach K2's summit without supplemental oxygen, adding to his impressive record as one of Kyrgyzstan's top mountaineers.
Zhang Qingliang: From China
Li Na: From China
Our expedition's success was made possible by these world-class Sherpa climbers who carry the legacy of Nepal’s unparalleled mountaineering heritage. This powerhouse team departed Kathmandu with experience, strength, and a commitment to safely guide the team through the mountain’s notorious challenges.
Their tireless work to open and maintain routes amidst difficult weather conditions was critical, especially through the perilous Bottleneck and up the summit ridge, where their knowledge and leadership enabled safe passage for all climbers. The following are the 14 peaks K2 Sherpa force who has summited Mt. K2 alongside the international members.
Mingma Jangbu Sherpa — One of the youngest rising guides with over 10 8,000-meter summits.
Pasang Sherpa — A veteran climber with extensive experience on Everest, K2, and other major peaks.
Sona Sherpa — With 27 eight-thousander summits, including Winter K2, Sona brings unmatched expertise.
Pasang Nurbu Sherpa — A phenomenal climber with 39 eight-thousanders to his name, including 14 climbs of 8000m peaks.
This year, K2 tested everyone with delayed climbs and unpredictable weather that stretched the season. The Sherpas' relentless effort bridging different expedition groups to open the route was vital to overcoming these challenges.
Our climbers’ determination and the Sherpas’ expertise combined seamlessly to make history. Gülnur Tumbat’s groundbreaking achievement as the first Turkish woman on K2 and Eduard Kubatov’s remarkable oxygen-free ascent for Kyrgyzstan highlight the extraordinary human spirit behind this expedition.
We extend heartfelt thanks to every climber, Sherpa, and support staff who contributed to this unforgettable success. Your courage, resilience, and teamwork remind us all why mountaineering is both a humbling and inspiring pursuit.
Join us in celebrating these pioneers and the Sherpa legends who are the backbone of K2’s 2025 success.
