Harpreet Singh “Harry” Cheema and Navneet Kaur “Nav” Cheema—an inspiring husband-and-wife duo now based in Ann Arbor, Michigan—have achieved a mountaineering milestone that places them among the world’s elite adventurers. They are officially the first Indian-born married couple and the first Sikh couple globally to successfully complete the Seven Summits—the highest peak on each continent.

Born in India—Harry in Sangrur, Punjab, and Nav in New Delhi—their accomplishment is a moment of immense pride for the Sikh community worldwide, for India, and for the United States, where they now reside. To date, fewer than five couples worldwide have climbed all Seven Summits together, making their success a rare and extraordinary achievement.

A Journey of Faith, Love & Resilience

The world first felt the power of their mission on May 23, 2024, at 7:50 AM, when they stood at the summit of Mount Everest (8,849 m / 29,032 ft). There, they unfurled the Nishan Sahib, the sacred Sikh flag, and recited Gagan Main Thaal, offering prayers for world peace, equality, and harmony. It was a moving tribute to their faith, courage, and identity—symbolizing the spirit of Sikhism:
Nirbhau, Nirvair – Without Fear, Without Hate.

Their final summit came on October 29, 2025, on the remote and technically demanding Carstensz Pyramid in Papua, Indonesia. This climb marked the completion of their Seven Summits quest—a dream achieved through unwavering teamwork, grit, and a love strengthened at the world’s highest places.
