Your journey begins with private airport transfers between Tribhuvan International Airport and your hotel in Kathmandu. The expedition includes domestic flights between Kathmandu/Ramechhap and Lukla (subject to seasonal operations), together with the transportation of all expedition equipment from Kathmandu to Lukla by air cargo and onward to Island Peak Base Camp by porters and yaks. The same logistical support is provided for the return journey. Each member is entitled to 25 kg of personal luggage, which will be transported by porters throughout the trek.
The package includes 3-4 nights' accommodation in a carefully selected 4-star hotel in Kathmandu on a twin-sharing, bed and breakfast basis. During the trek, members stay in comfortable mountain lodges and tea houses before moving into our professionally managed Base Camp. Shared high-altitude expedition tents are provided during the climbing phase to ensure a safe and comfortable stay on the mountain.
Three freshly prepared meals each day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), including tea and coffee, are provided throughout the trek and climbing period. Our experienced expedition kitchen serves nutritious meals using fresh vegetables, meat, and seasonal produce to support high-altitude performance, while boiled drinking water is provided during the expedition.
All necessary climbing permits and government fees are included, including the Island Peak (Imja Tse) Climbing Permit issued by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit, the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit, along with all required environmental, garbage management, and administrative fees.

The expedition is further supported by experienced Base Camp managers, professional cooks, kitchen staff, and porters. A fully equipped Base Camp and professionally established high camp provide everything required for a successful climb. This includes high-altitude tents, cooking equipment, EPI gas, high-altitude meals, fixed and dynamic ropes, group climbing equipment, and route fixing by experienced Sherpas. Every member also receives a complimentary 14 Peaks Expedition 150L duffle bag.
Prior to the climb, members receive comprehensive instruction covering fixed rope techniques, crampon use, ice axe skills, and climbing equipment. Comprehensive medical kits are available throughout the expedition, while walkie-talkies provide communication between Base Camp and the climbing team. Regular weather forecasts from Meteotest (Bern, Switzerland) help ensure safe summit planning. Emergency oxygen, masks, and regulators are also available at Base Camp if required.
Medical and emergency rescue insurance is provided for all Nepalese expedition staff involved throughout the trek and climbing period.
Enjoy a welcome dinner in Kathmandu with the 14 Peaks Expedition team before the start of your adventure, providing an opportunity to meet your guides, review the expedition, and prepare for the climb.
Upon successfully summiting Island Peak (6,189m), climbers will receive an official Island Peak Climbing Certificate issued by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA).
The expedition fee does not include international airfare to and from Kathmandu or the Nepal Entry Visa fee. Visitors can obtain a visa upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport or through the Nepalese Embassy in their respective country.
Lunch and dinner during your stay in Kathmandu are not included. Additional hotel accommodation and meals resulting from early arrival, late departure, itinerary changes, personal preferences, or domestic flight delays and cancellations are also excluded.
Comprehensive personal travel insurance is mandatory and must include coverage for high-altitude trekking and climbing, emergency helicopter evacuation, medical treatment, rescue, repatriation, trip cancellation, and trip interruption. A copy of your insurance policy must be submitted before your arrival in Nepal.
Personal expenses such as telephone calls, internet access, battery charging, laundry services, hot showers, bottled beverages, alcoholic drinks, snacks purchased outside the expedition meal plan, souvenirs, and any other items of a personal nature are not included.
Personal trekking and climbing equipment, including clothing, mountaineering boots, crampons, harness, helmet, ice axe, ascender, sleeping bag, backpack, personal medical kit, and other technical gear, are not included. Fees for special filming permits, professional camera equipment, and drone permits are also the responsibility of the participant.
A minimum summit bonus of USD 500 for your personal Climbing Sherpa upon a successful ascent is not included. Gratuities for Base Camp staff, kitchen crew, porters, and expedition support staff are customary, with a recommended minimum contribution of USD 250 per member.
Any services, activities, equipment, transportation, or expenses not specifically mentioned under the "What's Included" section, including costs arising from itinerary changes, personal requests, or circumstances beyond the control of 14 Peaks Expedition, are excluded.
