The Gasherbrum - I Expedition delivers a complete high-altitude experience, combining expert leadership, proven logistics, and comprehensive support from arrival in Islamabad to the summit of Gasherbrum - I.

Designed for climbers who value safety, reliability, and professional expedition management, the package provides the essential foundation for a successful ascent, with dedicated Sherpa support, comprehensive oxygen provisions, and a carefully planned acclimatization strategy.

1. ARRIVAL & ACCOMMODATION

  • Airport–hotel–airport private transfers.
  • 2 nights 4-star hotel in Islamabad, single room, B&B.
  • Welcome dinner in Islamabad with office staff.

2. PERMITS & FORMALITIES

  • G-I expedition royalty and climbing permits for members and Sherpa.
  • Government Liaison Officer with equipment, salary and accommodation.
  • Satellite phone/walkie-talkie permits.
  • Garbage deposit and stool shipment transfer fees.
  • Pakistan Customs cargo-clearance assistance (clearance charges extra).
  • G-I climbing certificate from the Pakistani Alpine Club upon successful ascent.

3. TRANSPORT & CARGO

  • Islamabad–Skardu–Islamabad domestic flights as per itinerary.
  • Skardu–Askole–Skardu jeep transportation.
  • Staff transportation from Islamabad to Askole via Skardu.
  • Expedition equipment transportation: Nepal–Pakistan by air cargo, Islamabad–Askole by road, and Askole–Base Camp by porters/mules, including return transport.
  • Up to 60 kg personal baggage per member carried by porters/mules.

4. TREKKING, FOOD & LODGING

  • Full-board meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner with tea/coffee.
  • Hotel/Lodge/Tent accommodation during the trek and at Base Camp.
  • Hygienic food, fruits, soft drinks and juices.
  • Camping logistics and porters to/from Base Camp.

5. BASE CAMP SERVICES

  • Well-managed Base Camp for members and staff.
  • Nepalese and Pakistani Base Camp cooks and kitchen helpers.
  • Staff salaries, equipment, food and clothing.
  • Individual member box tent.
  • Dining, kitchen, communication, toilet, shower, staff and storage tents.
  • Tables, chairs and cooking equipment.
  • Heaters, solar power and generator for lighting and charging.

6. CLIMBING & SHERPA SUPPORT

  • Base Camp oxygen, ice-wall and ladder training by Sherpa Guide.
  • 2:1, one multiple 8000m summiteer high-altitude climbing Sherpa plus one Pakistani Sherpa.
  • Sherpa support throughout rotations and summit push.
  • Sherpa gear-carrying assistance.
  • Sherpa salary, equipment, food and clothing.

7. OXYGEN & HIGH CAMPS

  • 3 × 4L oxygen bottles per member.
  • 2 oxygen bottles per high-altitude Sherpa.
  • Oxygen mask and regulator for member and Sherpa.
  • High-altitude tents, food, cooking equipment and EPI gas at C1, C2 and C3.
  • Group climbing equipment and fixed/dynamic ropes as required.
  • High-camp accommodation: 2 members per tent.
  • Backup oxygen available (subject to charge).

8. ROUTE, WEATHER & SAFETY

  • Experienced Sherpa rope-fixing team to the G-I summit.
  • Satellite phone for emergencies (member use subject to charge).
  • Walkie-talkies for Base Camp–mountain communication.
  • Regular Meteotest, Bern weather forecasts.
  • Comprehensive medical kit.
  • Medical/emergency rescue insurance for Nepalese and Pakistani staff.
  • Two 14 Peaks Expedition duffle bags, tshirt, cap and buff.

Excludes

What is not covered in the itinerary

1. MEMBER INSURANCE

  • Comprehensive insurance covering medical treatment, high-altitude evacuation, rescue, air evacuation (Insurance copy required before departure from Kathmandu).

2. GRATUTIES

  • Sherpa summit bonus minimum of USD 2500.
  • Pakistani Sherpa summit bonus minimum of USD 1500.
  • For high altitude & kitchen staff tips minimum of USD 600.

3. INTERNATIONAL AIRFARE

  • The package does not include the cost of your arrival and return flights.

4. FILMING

  • The filming crew and the Permits is not included in the package.

5. PERSONAL CLIMBING GEARS

  • Please note that your personal climbing gear is not included in the package.

6. EXTRA NIGHT IN SKARDU/ISLAMABAD

  • Additional accommodation costs for early arrival, late departure, early return, or domestic flight cancellations.

7. PERSONAL EXPENSES

  • Telephone calls, internet, toiletries, battery recharge, hot showers, laundry, soft drinks, beers, and alcoholic beverages during the trek.

It's rated Hard — expect extreme altitude, steep terrain, cold weather, glaciers, and constantly changing mountain conditions.

Yes. Each member gets 3 oxygen bottles (4L), plus a mask and regulator. Oxygen support is also provided for the high-altitude Sherpas.

Gasherbrum I is also known as Hidden Peak and is located in the Karakoram Range of Pakistan.

The itinerary includes an extended acclimatization period with higher-camp rotations between approximately 5,000m and 7,000m before the summit push.
