Trip Itinerary

A thoughtful daily breakdown of the journey with route highlights

Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel, and settle in. In the evening, join a welcome gathering to meet your fellow climbers and expedition team, followed by a briefing on the upcoming adventure.

Take time to relax and explore Kathmandu, visit its historic sites, complete any last-minute expedition shopping, and attend a detailed expedition briefing covering the climbing plan, safety procedures, equipment, and logistics.

Take a scenic helicopter flight to Samagaun(45 Minutes), where you will begin acclimatizing to the higher altitude.

Continue acclimatizing by exploring the village and its surroundings, ensuring your body adjusts to the altitude.

Hike to Samdo to aid acclimatization, then return to Samagaun for the night.

Begin the trek to Manaslu Base Camp, enjoying the stunning scenery as you approach the base of the mountain.

Spend this period ascending Manaslu. Follow a strategic schedule of rotations to higher camps for acclimatization and preparation, aiming to reach the summit within this window

Decend to base camp, fly back to Kathmandu. Reserved for any delays due to weather or technical issues, ensuring a safe and unhurried expedition.

Relax and unwind in Kathmandu. Reflect on the expedition and explore more of the city. Fare-well get together.

The Manaslu Expedition is a professionally organized ascent of Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m), the eighth-highest mountain in the world. 14 Peaks Expedition provides comprehensive expedition logistics, experienced Sherpa support, acclimatization planning, high-altitude equipment, and base camp services.

Manaslu is a serious 8,000-meter expedition requiring strong physical fitness, technical climbing ability, and previous high-altitude experience. Climbers should be comfortable with fixed ropes, crampons, steep snow and ice, and prolonged exposure to extreme altitude.

Previous 8,000-meter experience is highly recommended, but it is not always mandatory. Strong experience on 6,000–7,000 m peaks, combined with appropriate technical skills, fitness, and high-altitude preparation, can provide a suitable foundation.

The expedition generally follows the standard Northeast Face route, progressing from Base Camp through higher camps before making the summit push. The exact camp strategy and climbing schedule are adjusted according to weather, snow conditions, acclimatization, and team performance.

A full Manaslu expedition typically takes around 40–50 days, including arrival in Nepal, trekking to Base Camp, acclimatization rotations, summit preparation, the summit window, and return to Kathmandu. The exact duration depends on the expedition schedule and mountain conditions.

Our expedition package is designed around professional logistics and high-altitude support, including experienced Sherpa guides, Base Camp infrastructure, meals, accommodation, climbing logistics, acclimatization planning, communication, medical support, and emergency/rescue coordination.

Supplemental oxygen is available as part of the expedition's high-altitude safety strategy, with oxygen provisions and usage planned according to the climber's requirements, health, weather, and expedition strategy.

The main climbing season for Manaslu is autumn, particularly September and October. This period generally offers the most favorable combination of weather and climbing conditions, although high-altitude weather can change rapidly at any time.

Preparation should include endurance training, strength conditioning, altitude preparation, and technical mountaineering practice. Climbers should also train with expedition equipment, develop efficient rope and crampon skills, and gain experience carrying loads at altitude.
