Mount Elbrus, standing at 5,642 meters (18,510 ft), is the highest peak in Europe and one of the prestigious Seven Summits. Located in the heart of the Caucasus Mountains in Russia, it is a dormant volcano with twin summits and permanent glaciers. The region stretches between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, forming a stunning natural boundary between Europe and Asia. The climb is known for its high snowline, glaciated slopes, and a blend of Alpine and Himalayan mountaineering experiences.
This 8-day expedition offers a challenging yet achievable summit experience, ideal for trekkers and aspiring mountaineers with good physical fitness and basic climbing experience. The itinerary is designed to include acclimatization hikes, cable car access, and an efficient summit strategy, supported by professional Sherpa and Russian guides. The climb is non-technical but requires good preparation and the right gear due to altitude and cold conditions.

Mount Elbrus is located in the Caucasus Mountains of Russia, near the border of Europe and Asia. It is the highest peak in Europe, making it one of the Seven Summits.

The expedition is considered challenging, but it is a non-technical climb. Prior trekking experience, good physical fitness, and mental endurance are required. The main challenge is the altitude and cold conditions.

Basic high-altitude trekking or mountaineering experience is recommended. Familiarity with using crampons, ice axe, and harness is helpful, but our guides will provide assistance and basic training.

The expedition is led by Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, the youngest person to summit Mt. Everest without oxygen, along with experienced Sherpa and Russian guides.

We organize this trip in mid-July (12th July 2025), which falls in the optimal climbing season—with stable weather and ideal conditions.

You’ll stay in a hotel in Terskol and mountain huts at base camp. Tents may be used at higher camps if the weather permits.
